WILLIAMSON COUNTY – Williamson County has approved a $16.2 million budget for capital improvements for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Projects include:
$5.2 million to extend Tracy Chambers Lane to Southwestern Blvd., allowing for less congestion surrounding important administration buildings for the county, including 911 services.$4.5 million to build a backup 911 center, an improvement that is part of the Unify data-sharing program and is listed under the county’s public safety projects.$3 million to build a new radio tower. The county previously expressed the need for five new towers to fully integrate its Unify data-sharing system with surrounding areas.$1.5 million toward the maintenance and enhancements of the Carlson Cove Tower, which is used for emergency communications. $1.5 million to expand Williamson County Fleet Services, which manages all of the county’s vehicle-related needs. The county currently oversees the upkeep of around 750 pieces of equipment and vehicles. $457,425 for the remodeling of the Taylor Tax Assessor Collector’s Office.
The county also retained $4.2 million in unallocated funds from prior years to be used for parks and other capital improvements.
