Upscale RV park planned near Alamodome . . . for now

SAN ANTONIO – Local developer Craig Glendenning is planning a luxury RV park minutes from the Alamodome, but only for the short term.

When the market improves, he says he want to turn the site at 509 Delaware St. and 1008 and 1012 Hoefgen Ave. into a dual apartment and hotel project.

The lots are intended for a 300-unit apartment complex or a 270-unit hotel, according to Glendenning. He plans to have the RV park running for five to seven years. The park will be open for short-term rentals up to 30 days at about $75 per day.

The future mixed-use project would add to the burgeoning hotel options that are sprouting up around the Alamodome in downtown’s eastern outskirts.

Glendenning added that about $2 million would be invested in paving the site and building out the amenities.

The lots were purchased in 2020 and have a combined assessed value of about $1.7 million.
